“Bugs are the future,” they say — but the future they’re designing is malnourished lab sludge, and insect paste will send you to an early grave. Wake up. Eat real.
Another excellent article with searchable references. Thank You Gazza.
Next the slaves will be told that "The Scientists TM" have discovered that seaweeds and sea algae are a great nutritious food for humans and will be massed produced in factories as biscuits, when in fact the final product ingredients is not what slaves were told.
The movie 'Soylent Green' is a 1973 American predicative film directed by Richard Fleischer and worthwhile watching.
Thanks for your comment — Soylent Green was one of those early shockers I saw as a teenager, and sadly it feels more documentary than dystopia these days.
Another film worth revisiting is Logan’s Run (1976). Set in a futuristic society sealed under a domed city, everyone lives a life of pleasure — but only until the age of 30. After that, they’re sacrificed in a ritual called “Carousel,” supposedly for renewal. Logan, a law enforcer called a Sandman, starts off hunting those who resist this fate. But when he’s ordered to infiltrate the resistance, he ends up discovering the truth: the system is a lie, and real life exists outside the dome.
Logan’s arc is powerful — not because he starts as a hero, but because he chooses to see, to act, and ultimately to expose the deception. He’s a symbolic whistleblower: someone from within the system who breaks free and brings the truth back to the people.
We need more Logans today — ethical insiders with courage, moral clarity, and the guts to speak out. Because exposing a lie from within takes more than knowledge. It takes heart.
