Adam Curtis’s The Century of the Self does not support the idea that the 20th century was dominated by genuine individualism and personal freedom. Instead, it presents a narrative where individualism is a product of calculated manipulation by commercial and political entities. The documentary suggests that rather than experiencing a true resurgence of individual sovereignty, society has seen a form of individualism that is deeply intertwined with and controlled by collective forces. Like I said earlier in these comments “…there's plenty of information it there to alert one to comprehend and understand; "I've been had" or "Oh no, they're onto us!"”

When I watched the Century of the Self in 2002, it wasn't such a shock, as I had seen for many years the brain control of the society. It was like God coming down to teach the core history and the truth behind American culture. Every body who is even the slight bit interested in how the psyop disaster took off, taking over reality, needs to watch this 4 part series. Edward Bernays, Freud's nephew, has been cloned millions of times since this documentary was made by Adam Curtis.

I must say, my first viewing of "The Century of Self," was my pivotal awakening. Anyone who believes they're a critical thinker and observer, who watch's this series, cannot help but to be shaken. Is it without discrepancies or error? Probably not, but there's plenty of information it there to alert one to comprehend and understand; "I've been had" or "Oh no, they're onto us!"

I think it is both!

It is just a matter of time. Over the years, the number of articles, documentaries, websites and social media platforms, also writing platforms, especially substack, have woken up millions!!

May God's eternal grace, wisdom, intelligence, courage, insight and intuition, continue to shake up our divine calling, to follow the Truth and heal humanity!

Freud feared and despised most humans... over the past few years of observing this Covid Scam... I have come to this conclusion https://fasteddynz.substack.com/p/the-dumbest-species-ever

And I am in complete agreement with Freud...

Humans are nasty beasts and they are so easily controlled - that they MUST be controlled.

Thank you Eddie Bernays

Well of course, there is “Propaganda” by Edward Bernays? (1928) This book is a foundational text on the use of public relations and manipulation of public opinion. AND “Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media” (1988) by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky. This book analyzes the ways in which media serves the of powerful societal elites. AND Brave New World Revisited” by Aldous Huxley. Huxley revisits the themes of his novel “Brave New World” to critique contemporary society’s reliance on psychological manipulation. Still relevant today 65 years later. It’s the same old plan, with the benefit of modern technology!

Well Eddy, you have an interesting take on the world. Though, you never mentioned what the so-called rulers of the world were; clowns perhaps? I will agree that your two teed serf system is certainly how the mega powerful see us. But there are those of us who are a little less cynical of how we see our fellow travellers. Nevertheless, your perspective will cause us to think hard about who we are and who we’d like to be. And that’s a good thing!

As I mention -- they prefer to remain behind the curtain.... they never make the claim that they run the world....

They are basically the same people who own the Federal Reserve....

Their minions operate the matrix ... which is the world that most humans perceive as their reality.

What does Adam Curtis 'document' in his documentary? If memory serves, he presents a political screed that attempts to prop-up the idea that individualism was a dominant force of the century, and not collectivism, statism, managerial bureaucracy and mercantilism.

A 'Century of the Self' consisting of a ressurection of invidifual sovereignty and freedom would be a welcome change of course.
