In "Free Your Mind", Dodsworth and Fagan expose how governments, media, & corporations exploit good intentions for control. This “mental self-defense manual” teaches you to see through the illusions.
You’re very welcome! It’s great to hear you’ve been following and sharing Laura’s work—A State of Fear certainly had an impact. And I completely understand the balance between staying informed and managing a fixed income, especially when the cost of living isn’t easy. Writers like Sasha Latypova are a gift for keeping critical information accessible to everyone. Thanks for sharing your perspective, and cheers from here!
Absolutely spot on! These rules are timeless safeguards against manipulation. If we approached every claim with this level of scrutiny, we’d all be more grounded and resilient thinkers. It's amazing how simple principles like "verify everything" or "if it sounds too good, it’s not good" serve as powerful tools for navigating today’s world.
Having bought and read Laura's earlier book, "A State of Fear", I have been following her on substack for awhile and spreading her name among personal acquaintances and in other social media.
But after noticing that some of her substack posts are behind a paywall, I don't follow her as much as I used to, and decided to wait for summaries of subsequent books — for the simple reason that I am retired, on a fixed income, and Japan does not rank very highly for the ratio between pension benefits and cost of living.
Ms. Dodworth seems to be doing very well for herself, but she has a few blind spots, including the likes of myself. For that reason, I am thankful for substack writers such as Sasha Latypova who share important information to one and all, while depends on her livelihood through other income streams.

We just need to apply basic rules to whatever we read, hear and being fed.
"Verify everything."
"You claim, you prove." - if only we applied this rule during last 4 years!
"By their deed shall ye know them."
"If something sounds too good, it is not good!"
"There is no such thing as a free lunch- it must be paid for by someone."
